It works for you when
Yes, when
Your terrace is larger than 4×3 metres, and you want to use it beyond just the summer months. When the façade is modern or minimalist, and the pergola is not decoration but the natural extension of how you use the space. When the material, the shading system, and the visual character matter as much as the price.
Probably not, when
You're after ad-hoc shade for a few hours of evening hosting. A sun sail or a mobile awning will solve that faster and at a fraction of the cost. If the property is temporary, or if you specifically need rain protection on a small surface, a simple canopy is enough.
Options
Three core systems
01
Louvered pergola
The top louvers rotate from 0 to 135 degrees on a motor. In the morning fully open for daylight; at midday partially shaded; in the evening closed for a rain-protected room. A rain sensor can close the louvers automatically; whether or not we hand that over to you is your call.

Motorised retractable system
A motor-driven textile panel mounted under or above the structure that extends and retracts. More affordable than the louvered system, but requires a textile replacement around year 8–12. Classic terrace-cover character, contemporary materials.

Fixed roof
Solid or ribbed roofing panels in an aluminium frame. No moving parts, no maintenance, no motor. Rain-protected, partially shaded space, 365 days a year. The most durable and lowest-maintenance option.
Material selection
What we build it from
Aluminium (anodised or powder-coated)
Maintenance-free, corrosion-resistant, low weight. Anthracite RAL 7016, black RAL 9005, bronze, and coffee tones are the most-asked. Looks the same in 15–20 years as on handover day.
Powder-coated steel
Higher load-bearing, slimmer profiles, heavier visual character. Industrial-grade coating with a 12–15 year guaranteed surface. Chosen where the visual character demands stronger structural presence.
Wood-effect finish on aluminium core
Visually a wood appearance with the warmth of timber, but the structural advantages of aluminium remain. A middle path when the surrounding architecture still calls for warm character.

The square-metre price covers design, manufacturing, on-site installation, and the 10-year structural warranty. It does not cover paving demolition or new electrical wiring if the chosen location requires it. We line-item these in the quote.
The signed quote is fixed after the on-site survey. The range above is for design and budget-bracket estimation only.
